During our Beginner Crochet Workshop you will master the art of crochet and how to create a Granny Square.
You will leave with the beginning of a Granny Square, Wool, Hook and detailed guides, so you can carry on crocheting at home.
I sometimes diss a Granny Square as you have loads of ends to weave in and have to crochet them all together BUT you can weave in the ends as you go and you can do so much with them.
My favourite thing to do is use up my leftovers and crochet a whole bunch of Granny squares and go from there.
Here are three projects you can do with your crocheted Granny Squares:
Granny Square Hand Warmers
You will need just FOUR granny squares.
Make four granny squares the same size as the back of your hand. Place two granny squares right sides together and crochet two sides together. Scroll down for a guide.
Pattern: Place two squares right side together.
Slip Stitch (SS) into the corner of two squares, Chain 3 (ch), Slip Stitch in next space (Sp), repeat until side is crocheted together, Repeat for other side and weave in any ends.
Optional - Add a cuff at the top and bottom: SS into a corner sp, Ch3 and Half Double Crochet (HDC) between each stitch, until you get back to the 3 ch, ss into the ch sp. Fasten off - weave in any ends.
2. Granny Square Scarf
You will need ten or more Granny Squares.
Crochet the granny squares together - as above, until the scarf is the length you would like.
Optional: Add tassels!
Robbing banks have never been so cute!
This pattern is a basic pattern for you to follow but easy to adapted to create it for any size head and using whatever wool and hook you have. I found that this is a great stash buster. You make eight granny squares and crochet together. You can then add a trim around the neck and face hole.
