One of my favourite and most popular workshops at Twin Made is our Dungaree Dress Making Workshop. It is a regular on our monthly listings and has even become a popular Crafterparty choice, with as many as five all making a dungaree dress each. We also regularly get bookings for sessions so people can fit in this workshop around work and childcare.
For this workshop you will need to bring 1.5/2 meters of a pre-washed medium fabric, twill and cord work great, we have even had one attendee use her Catronaught duvet cover! We provide everything else. The pattern is based on hip measurements, which we have cut ready for you. The pattern has lots of variations so you can decide if you would like a front and back centre seam or not, 0-5 pockets and short or long length, you could even add a split.
You will layout the pattern, pin and cut the fabric, add tailor's tacks for the pockets before constructing the dress. We keep this workshop to two people so you get a machine each and can use the overlocker to neaten and add a professional finish to your dress and once hemmed we can add the dungaree clips.
You will take your dress home with a pattern and how-to-guide so you can make lots more.
We get great feedback about this workshop as people are surprised and pleased that they can make a whole garment in three hours.
Our next date is Sunday 15th April 2pm - 5pm and is £30 per person. To book or arrange a crafty date click on the email icon below.
