As I type I realise that for the last three years I have been working the dream! I am so lucky to have turned my hobbies into a business - I get to teach how be creative every single day! But sometimes it is good to keep a little something for me.
A couple of years ago I decided to teach myself to crochet, having always knitted I was told if you can do one you can’t do the other - well, when I am told i can’t do something I dig in and want to prove those doubters wrong! THREE MONTHS it took me and then another year of absolute winging it and using the amazing library of patterns on Love Crafts and don’t get me started on the wonderful wools available from this lovely inspiring website!
Love Crafts is also the website where I discovered Katie Jones - her Blooming Bomber Jacket was the first ever garment I crocheted and the pattern is FREE!
Back in January I headed to Dorset to support my Mum and Dad after my Dad had a Hip Replacement I knew I needed a big project to take with me! Mulling it over I realised I could use an existing cross stitch pattern, I had designed and create a Corner to Corner (C2C) wall hanging. The squares of the cross stitch patterns were easily transferred to the squares of a C2C pattern. I had never tried C2C crochet before but after a bitt of googling, I got the idea and now I can’t stop!
I have now created four versions of my Do No Harm pattern - Print, crochet, cross stitch and tapestry!
I am so glad we can do in person workshops again as I can teach people how to crochet and design their own colourful patterns!
