We have been adding lots of our cross stitch patterns to our Twin Made Shop. Our patterns are often inspired by people, politics and podcasts.
Our Fuck this Shit pattern has been flying out. The design was based on a large felt wall hanging we made and I though it was crying out to become a fun and colourful pattern to stitch up.

Read MoreTwin Made Tip Top Sewing Tips!
During our works shops we share lots of tips on using a sewing machine, so if you have a sewing machine at home or wanted to get started or get back into the sewing seat?
Here are a few top tips to stop you throwing your sewing machine out of the window.
Tips for using your sewing machine:
Before sewing make sure there are two threads, one through the needle and one from the bobbin - make sure they are long and touch you desk - this stop the needle un-threading.
If moving the needle - get into a habit of turning the turning wheel towards you and towards you only, this will stop the threads from tangling.
When you have finished sewing and you move the fabric away from the machine, ensure the needle is up to its highest point. If more than one thread comes out of the bobbin holder, turn the turning wheel slightly and try again.

We celebrated International Women's Day with an Alternative Crafternoon! There was not a cup of tea or slice of cake in sight! Instead we choose to raise up the women around us with lots of fun crafts: stitch your own protest signs, glittery tampon earrings, vulva paintalong and more!
Wicked Women’s Institute, Geetlush and I, asked the awesome creative community of Cardiff and received over 25 raffle prizes and with all the ticket sales and raffle tickets sold, we raised £320 for Welsh Women’s Aid - which has absolutely blown my mind!
Resident of O Dan//Under\\Nos Da. Rou’s Ink created a tattoo flash sheet and donated a portion of each to our total amount raised.
Caitlin also joined us with her new pop up shop specialising in fiction/non fiction/zines from marginalised voices! Social links coming soon!

Read MoreTwin Made Sparkly Bum Bag and Macramé Workshop!
Leonie is currently working at Twin Made while she is studying at Cardiff University. Leonie managed to squeeze in two Twin Made workshops in between her busy schedule! She wrote about it here:
My workshop experience at Twin Made I took part in a bum bag and macramé plant hanger workshop at Twin Made and had a great time! In the first workshop I attended, I crafted my own sparkly bum bag. It might sound difficult to make your own bag, but it is easier thank you think.
The welcoming and artsy atmosphere at Twin Made makes it even more enjoyable. First, we had to choose our fabric for the inside and outside of the bag and a zip colour. The instructions given by Charlotte made every crafting step very clear and simple. We mainly worked with a sewing machine, which was fun and sometimes challenging – but Charlotte was of great help and very patient. Once we sew the bag together, we attached a strap to the bum bag. The result was beautiful, I felt very proud of myself. This fun evening made me want to craft more as it is such a great achievement to make something yourself!
The second workshop was creating your own Macramé plant hanger. I was impressed that the fabric we used was old shirts from a factory in Portugal – a great sustainable way of reusing clothes! Macramé is an ancient knotting craft and very relaxing. Charlotte showed us various knotting techniques that were easy to learn and use. The knotting itself was calming and relaxing and a great opportunity to talk to one another.
The art of Macramé is fascinating and such a beautiful way to make your plant stand out. After attending both workshops, I was sent guidelines on both crafting activities. I am looking forward to creating more sparkly bum bags and plant hangers. I can highly recommend the workshops and will definitely attend more!
